"I...I must have miscalculated."
―Mio[src]

Mio (ミオ) commands her own team within the Garlyle Forces. Like Nana and Saki, she is obsessed with Colonel Mullen. Of the three sergeants, Mio is the most intelligent and her battle tactics often involve odd contraptions.

Story[]

Mio is first seen at the Sult Ruins with her fellow sergeants, Saki and Nana, discussing methods of disciplining their soldiers. The three sergeants threaten Justin and Sue despite their Letter of Introduction, but Mio is the only sergeant to show them a form of mercy.

The party's next major run-in with the sergeants is after they rescue the humanoid boy Rem, whom the Garlyle Forces were trying to capture. After escaping from jail, the party are forced to fight their way through the sergeants, with Mio being the third and last of the fights.

After a number of minor encounters throughout the storyline, the next actual clash comes in the form of a triple battle against all three sergeants at once aboard the Grandeur. Mio's tactics are largely unchanged, still utilizing her Stun Gun and Balloons, but for the addition of various Magic spells to her arsenal. She mostly specializes in support/healing magic as opposed to the suppressive/offensive Magic preferred by Nana/Saki respectively.

The sergeants are next seen during Gaia's devastation of the world, when Justin encounters them alone. Rather than use the opportunity to get their revenge, the sergeants let bygones be bygones in the face of the greater, mutual threat now facing everyone. They resolve to help the soldiers who refuse to take part in the assault on Gaia back to Messina, then take part in the assault themselves.
