The Skillman is a minor non-playable character in Grandia Xtreme. He tends to his shop in Locca of the same name, situated between the Magician's shop and the barracks. For a small fee he will change Vellum found from enemy drops into varying Skills. He will also purchase Skills and Skill Books in exchange for credits. These can then be used to purchase certain items from him, including Mana Eggs and some rare and valuable equipment. These items are referred to as "Gifts" in game.
In a conversation with Ben in Chapter Four, the Skillman reveals he once went on a long journey to find a legendary Skill Book that held the secret of eternal life. He states that he did this because his father, who was also a Skillman, didn't take him seriously in their occupation, and he wanted to prove himself because of it. Evann tells him that in this regard their fathers had a lot in common.
